The Chair Affair Auction and Gala is upon us!

There is alot of things going on this month and into November. I'll start with the furthest out first. The Chair Affair Auction and Gala http://www.thechairaffair.com/sponsor.html will be Nov. 5th from 7-11pm in Seaside. I'll be attending to see my chairs get auctioned off along with all the other great looking chairs that have been on display all summer. It is an event worth attending, so I hope to see you there.

The NW Florida Fair show is going on right now in Ft. Walton Beach. I entered 5 pieces into the show. There are @81 artists showing over 240 pieces of artwork. It's a show worth going out to see. I wasn't an award winner in this show, but the reception was well attended and the food was great.

I entered 2 pieces in to the Cinco Banderas show at the Artel Gallery in Pensacola for jury selection. Well today I had to retrieve my work, for it didn't make the cut. It is a very interesting show, with the reception on the 28th from 6-8pm.

Tomorrow night, (Oct. 28th from 5pm-til..) is also the Grand Re-Opening of the Imago Gallery, at their new location. Directions are as followed: Take Palafox south to Intendencia, take a right to Baylon. Look for the Red Lights straight ahead on the left. I'll be there to celebrate the new gallery location and to promote my 4 panel painting "The Serenity Series". Paul Jackson is the featured artist for the night along with works from 35 other artists.

On Saturday the 29th, I'll be heading out the Henderson Beach State Park in Destin for the Mattie Kelly Foundation Art Festival. I have several friends showing in this event, so I'll be out to support them.

This week the Artists of the Emerald Coast Magazine http://artistsoftheusa.com/emcoast/ has been released. I'm going to be working with the publisher with distribution of the magazine in the area as well as promoting it for the 2nd edition. If you have any questions, please contact Tammy Kevwitch or myself. The Magazine looks great!

Last saturday evening I set up on Navarre Beach at the Cocadries Restaurant for the Beaches to Woodland Tour's Art Night Event. http://www.beaches-rivers.com/b2w.php3
I set up with some originals, giclee prints as well as I debuted a new set of paintings that I've been working on. I wanted to get a responce about this new style of work I've been working on. Well, they all sold immediately, which was really exciting. So I'm working on more of these fun and exciting pieces. I also set up and done a small plein-air painting of the sunset while I was out there. I met alot of great people and some amazing artists as well. We may be doing more of these events in the future. Chad, the owner of Cocadries, was very pleased with the turn out and was a great host.

I also set up for the first event of the Beaches to Woodland Tour on the 1st of Oct. at the Dragonfly Gallery in Milton, Florida. I did a plein-air painting of the gallery, but then took it a step further, in the studio, and embellished it with dragonflies. Here is a view of it at the top, I'm not sure how it will be recieved. Let me know what you think.

Well that's about all that's been going on with me this past month and what I have coming up. Remember, being an artist isn't just about creating, it's about participating and supporting all aspects of the arts.

Thank you for coming along with me in this journey.
