Local Flavor

Hello everyone,

It's great to be back in action, after Hurricane Dennis's direct hit of our area, I'm getting things back in order. Some things were canceled or postponed, and some remained the same. The Arts and Design Society's member show "Local Flavor" went on as scheduled. I entered 3 pieces into the show, with one "The Islander" being selected as one of the images that will be used for a 2006 Calander. These calanders will probably go on sell to raise monies for their projects that are in the works. Like the cistern project, converting the cistern behind the gallery into a workshop, gallery and storage space for the Society's needs. So I'll let everyone know when they come available. So go and visit the gallery to see this show before Sunday the 31st of July.

I am also working with Tammy Kevwitch of Emerald Coast Multimedia Group http://www.emcoastmedia.com/default.asp who is publishing a magazine to showcase local artists and ads for local businesses. Here is a link to what she has put together so far: http://artistsoftheusa.com/emcoast/ .

The Imago Gallery is moving it's location, so the underwater show is a wash. They are moving into the center of Pensacola's downtown district that is more suited for access. The Gallery Night Events are also centered more for that area. So it is a win/win situation for both the Gallery and the art community. They are planning to have a new open house when they get settled into the new location.

I am having to regroup on my tour of the Serenity Series paintings, the Hurricane set me back a few weeks. I will post updates when I get the details of dates and locations that the tour will be in. I will also update my website page of the new information. Thank you for your patience.

After several weeks of being rained out and hurricanes the Emerald Coast Plein Air Painters Group is back in action. We went out to Henderson Beach State Park, Destin, Fl. on the 20th and was able to capture some beautiful cloud formations over the Gulf of Mexico. Next week we will be gathering at the Landing in Ft. Walton Beach, Fl. So if you are in the area, stop by and visit us and take a few minutes to enjoy the awesome view from that location. We will be there at 8:30-11:00am on the 27th of July.

I would like to thank everyone for you support of the arts and for taking the time to follow my journey as an artist.

Brad
